Solo visit to Kashi, Saranath and Ramnagar fort.

KASHI which is now called as VARANASI was earlier called as BANARAS too. It is very famous all across the world for its holiness it always attracts millions of tourists every year. There is a strong belief that one doing Kashi yatra will definetly vanishes off the sins did by them in their life .
Moving towards KASHI brought a big smile on my face because it was the most awaited place in my list of places to be visited. There it was CHAURI CHAURA express which I boarded was at 9:10 P.M from ALLAHABAD towards VARANASI and the journey took 4 hr 30 min, which means it should have reached Varanasi at 1:35 A.M but the train got delayed for 1 hr 35 min and reached Kashi at 3:15 AM. It was also a boon for me that the delay of the train saved my money which I had to spend for lodge.
I nearly spent 2 hours at the railway station and was not so boring because a good company of a tea seller who had stayed in Karnataka for 15 years accompanied me at the station.
It was 5:30 AM when I started towards the KASHI VISWANATHA temple which took 15 min to reach the temple in a shared auto paying 25 INR. As I knew that there was a GANGA GHAT near the temple and it was more suitable for me to take bath as well as a holly dip. By taking bath in the holy river Ganga I entered into the temple 6 AM, there was a crowd helped me to enter the temple easily and have a great experience of  the rituals done over here.
This temple complex mainly consists of noteable two temples one is of ANNAPURNASHWARI and another is VISWANATHA. when I was out it was 7 AM, I drank a special Tea which is very famous because it will be served in CLAY POT it’s called as MADKA TEA. Then I had a task of searching my uncle’s house who had settled there 2 years before for his PHD at BHU, I had lots of time with me because I canceled my NEPAL trip due to bad climatic condition. So went in search of the house by walk and reached his house at 8:00 AM which was a great surprise for him. Here I got a best person who could guide me with all the places at and nearby Varanasi. He gave me a route map and some different Temples which is to be visited there. They were
·       KALA BAIRESHWARA
·       DURGA KUNDH
·       SANKATA MOCHANA HANUMAN TEMPLE
·       MRUTHUNJAYA TEMPLE
·       NEW BIRLA MANDIR AT BHU.
It took almost half a day to complete all these temples at VARANASI where u will not come across any difficulty for transportation. As it is well developed city which also includes Shopping Malls and PVR cinemas, I went to a movie there just to spend time. By evening reached a shopping street nearby to the VISHWANATHA TEMPLE and bought souvenirs for my family members. While moving I saw a board which was written in KANNADA language as JANGAMAVADI MUTT which is a guest house allotted for particular caste in Karnataka. It was 8 PM when I started back to my uncle’s place.
The 2nd  day morning I had 2 places to be visited in my list they were,
·       SARANATH
·       RAMNAGAR FORT
SARANATH is almost 15KM from Varanasi where we are suppose to hair a taxi / bus / shared auto which takes 40mins approximately to reach Saranath. By the time I reached Saranath it was 10:30 AM

PLACES TO BE VISITED IN SARANATH:
·       DEER PARK
·       JAPAN TEMPLE
·       TIBETIAN TEMPLE
·       ARCHYOLOIGICAL MUSEUM
·       SARANATH MUSEUM
·       DHAMEKH STUPA
·       BANARAS SAREE FACTORY
Among all these places SARANATH MUSIUM attracted me to the core where I saw our national emblem THE LION CAPITAL, ASHOKA CHAKRA, ASHOKA PILLER and etc.
Deer park is the place of Gouthama Buddha where he started his teachings of Buddhism initially. For all these places it took three and half hours.
It was the time to visit RAMNAGAR fort from SARANATH, I struggled a lot on my way because of very less availability of transportation from Saranath, but from Varanasi there are frequent busses. And finally reached the fort at 4:00 PM.
The Ramnagar fort is the oldest of its kind in India and also consist of a museum where one could find all the war equipments used by the kings during the major war times. Here the ticket coasted me 30 INR. From there I again came back to the city of VARANASI in a shared auto till BHU, from BHU reached my uncle’s place by 7 PM.
3rd day early morning  had a holy dip in ASSI GHAT  which was nearby and visited the KASHI VISHVANATHA temple again. It was already 8:30 AM and my train towards HARIDWAR was at 9AM, but missed my DOON express and took a general ticket to DELHI and from Delhi reached HARIDWAR the 4th day noon.

Allahabad Triveni Sangama visit.

As you people know that travelling is my passion and even planning to take it as my profession it was a great opportunity for me to travel a holy place called ALLAHABAD  and increase my knowledge about  a particular destination.

From Ayodhya i did not get a direct bus to Allahabad So from Ayodhya I had to travel to Faizabad in a shared auto by giving 15 rupees and its 20 KM far by the time i reached Faizabad it was 10 AM . From Faizabad i got a direct bus to Allahabad which almost took 2 hr 50 min  of journey and it was 1 noon when i reached Allahabad. (by bus it costed me 144 rupees)

As it was afternoon it was too hot, my mobile phone recognized and warned that the temperature was 41 degree C. As it was hot i filled my stomach with 3 glasses of cold juice and started towards TRIVENI SANGAMA which is 18 KM from the railway station. I went to a nearby Auto stand and haired a auto towards the holy place TRIVENI SANGAMA (A PLACE WHERE ALL THREE HOLY RIVERS GANGA, YAMUNA AND SARASWATHI MEET EACH OTHER

As i had some idea that people of  Allahabad may exploit the tourist in many ways, I went in a shared auto like a local-lite  which costed me 25 rupees and helped me reaching  my Holy Destination ALLAHABAD TRIVENI SANGAMA. IT is believed that one can vanish his/her sins by having a holy dip in the sangama. I hardly did't know that i had to travel 20 more KM in the boat to reach the TRIVENI SANGAMA point, it was 2:30 PM, anyway i had time till 9 PM to board my train towards VARANASI so decided to go on a boat to get a holy dip in the sangama, i haired a boat alone for rupees 450, which is also available in sharing basis like, 100 or 150/person. As i was alone haired a separate boat. almost at 3:40 PM i was there in the Sangama with a Poojari (saint) who told me all the important facts of KUMBHAMELA which happened previous year ie,2013.
By conducting a pooja in the Sangama I Returned back at to the shore at 6:15 PM
I saw a fort near the shore which was closed at that time, I filled my eyes with the beauty of the huge fort from outside and moved forward towards Railway station in a shared auto to catch my train which i had to board at 9 PM to my next Destination  VARANASI (KASHI).

Ayodhya birth place of lord Rama.

It was a great opportunity for me to visit AYODHYA (UP) during my internship  which was at Mussoorie a city in uttarakand.
So my journey started from dehradun railway station without knowing the place which is to be visited, I love to travel a lot But if it's alone it's a previlage opportunity for me to explore the places and get to know the things in a better way, and  it was me alone started from dehradun railway station towards Ayodhya.

It was Doon express in which i boarded at 20:30 from Dehradun, and the journey was not so impressive, it was highly crowded because the next day was RAM NAVAMI (the day on which lord RAMA took his birth at Ayodhya) as my ticket was booked earlier ,i had not come across any of the problems during my journey time.

The next day after my 16 hours of journey came to an end, it was  12 noon . and it was a memorable time for me to get down of my train at Ayodhya. Getting out from the railway station at Ayodhya was really a challenging task for me because i told you that next day was the holiest day ever there. finally got out from the railway station after an hour, it was already 1 noon ,so had some food nearby and started searching for a lodge there. i knew that it was a toughest job to get a room there on that particular day. Went to all the lodges at Ayodhya but could't find one for me coz all rooms were occupied. There i asked a person regarding the room, he showed me a small room where there was space to keep one single cot only and the room had no space to keep my bag, so kept it under the cot, took bath and went on a side-seeing, there I met a wonderful person "Rahul Pande" a student come guide, initially i did't allow him to convince me to take a side-seeing coz i thought he may financially exploit me but i asked him how much i need to pay him to take me to all the places at Ayodhya, As i was alone he decided to take me on his 2-wheeler and demanded me to pour petrol of 150 rupees and i did for 200 rupees.

Now a beautiful journey with a wonderful local person who knew each and every bit of the city Ayodhya started on his old 2-wheeler,sat with him with all the fear in my mind. He took me to a holy river SARAYU, there i took bath and moved towards MANI PARVATH people even now believe that there in some precious stones and dig the soil nearby.on that hill one can have a look over 360 degree of the city Ayodhya. Got down the hill, then he took me to a beautiful temple of lord HANUMAN , there you could find hanuman sleeping posture where it is not found anywhere else in india. as it is believed that one must visit Hanuman Garhi a temple of Hanuman before visiting RAMA JANMA BHOOMI, And i did the same. after 3 long hours in the Que whit passing 7 barricades, i came out successfully having the darshana of lord RAMA and came back to my room by giving him 200 rupees.

Next day morning i woke up at 3 in the morning due to the huge disturbance by people visiting Ayodhya early morning to visit RAMA JANMA BHOOMI.  Then I started walking along with the crowd where they all move together, they took me again to the river SARAYU again i took a holy dip in the river SARAYU and stood with them in the Que to do darshana of  RAAM JANMA BHOOMI again.
Came out of the place at 8 AM took my luggage and started towards my next destination ALLAHABAD.  From Ayodhya i did not get a direct bus to Allahabad So from Ayodhya I had to travel to Faizabad in a shared auto by giving 15 rupees and its 20 KM far by the time i reached Faizabad it was 10 AM.

A day trip to Wagah Border, Amritsar, Punjab..

The awesome journey we started was from Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
We here were  just 2, myself and my bestie Chetan,  as we both were very patriotic  in nature planned to move towards India and Pakistan border <Wagah border> to view a great parade which will be conducted everyday from 4:30 pm.
We haired a train from Dehradun at 7:30 in the evening and reached Amritsar next day 7:30 in the morning. It was almost 12 hours of journey.
We almost had half a day to our respective destination Wagah Border so decided to visit other 2 destinations, they were Golden Temple and jallian-wala-bagh. We saw a bicycle rickshawas surrounded the railway station and as they r not much costly we haired it and moved towards Golden temple which is just 4-5 kms from the station.
And by another rickshaw we went to jallian-wala-bagh , which we did was wrong,  golden temple to jallian-wala-bagh Is just a walkable distance,  it is just a worthless hiring a taxi between these two destination.
As you all know that panjabis are always too good in there food habits,  having breakfast at a near by restaurant named "The Brother's" proved that they are good enough.  We went around  the city and had a Lussi which was wonderful,
And by shared taxi we headed towards our dream destination Wagah Border,  it was around 1:30 pm and bit early, but we were confident that moving early can help us to get a front seat, and it was true. The distance from Amritsar city to Wagah Border was 35 to 40km which consists few time, and costed100 INR /person in a shared taxi.
We reached there around 3:30 and one hour seemed like a year,
The experience there was really heart-touching, the thousands of chorus voice were screaming BHAARATH MATHA KI JAI, is still there in my ears, I really suggest every Indian must experience this wonderful opportunity to visit the respectable Indian border which is really proud to say,  "I had been there" !.
Our wonderful journey came to an end, as we were pre booked our train
Tickets we were suppose to return back to the station in the same taxi which again costed 100 INR.
Hear I give the contact details of a taxi driver who can take you to the Wagah Border in a very less economy
